The Center for LGBTQ and Gender Studies in Religion (CLGS) was established at Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, California and opened its doors in the fall of 2000. Our mission is to advance the well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, and transgender people and to transform faith communities and the wider society by taking a leading role in shaping a new public discourse on religion, gender identity, and sexuality through education, research, community building, and advocacy.
The Center’s digital collection at California Revealed consists of moving images, audio recordings, and text materials from the 1970s to the 2000s. The collection includes recordings of sermons by Troy Perry, founder of the Metropolitan Community Church in Los Angeles, orientations for ordination for the Samaritan College, and more.
