The mission of the Historical Society and Museum of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection is to identify, collect, preserve, document, exhibit, and interpret material evidence and information of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
The Cal Fire Museum’s digital collection at California Revealed consists of moving images, photos and documents produced or used by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CalFire) and its predecessors from the 1930s to the present day. These include training films, fire prevention public service announcements, recruitment films, and other works documenting the evolution of fire management in a changing landscape; maps and photos of Department facilities, equipment and activities; and significant documents relating the history and development of fire suppression and emergency management in the State of California.
